Welp, its like it went into a completely new genre. I liked that the story got bigger as it went along. It starts off quiet, then suddenly you're dealing with powers, creatures, and a completely different world. A few things were left open, but it kept me interested.
I thought the book ended weirdly, turns out there was this masterpiece following it. This felt like a natural continuation of their story instead of repeating the first book. The new characters and mythology added a lot, and I finished it wanting to know more about the world and what happens next.
Vyolette & Axiel is my new favorite couple. The battles were amazing and that twist, i would have never thought of it. The supernatural parts were fun, but I ended up caring more about Axiel and Vyolette. They've already been through a lot together, so the danger actually felt personal instead of just action for the sake of it.
