Synopsis

Lumerica soon gives in to Nicholas' advances and the two began having an affair. Now that she's giving him her body, Nicholas believes he owns her and can sleep with her whenever he walks through her front door even if she denies it.

He pressed his soft lips against mine and lifted me on the countertop, his lips separating from mine and immediately moving to my neck. I moaned in a breath as my body was crying out for more, forgetting myself, I began bursting the buttons of his shirt aggressively. Yet still, this was wrong. I didn’t want to ruin my friendship with his wife and stopped myself from allowing it to go any further.
“Wait!” I yelled, nudging him aside, “I can't do this, I'm married!”
“So am I,” he countered, overlooking what I’d just said and kissing me even harder.

The story definitely kept my attention, and I flew through it in a weekend. I just struggled to connect with some of the characters because they made so many questionable decisions. If you enjoy messy drama, you'll probably like it more than I did."

I picked this up expecting relationship drama, but I got so much more. Every character made frustrating, believable choices, and I couldn't decide who to root for. The twists landed perfectly, and the ending stayed with me long after I finished.

There was plenty of suspense and the writing was easy to read, but I felt parts of the middle dragged a bit. The relationship dynamics were interesting, though, and the ending made the journey worthwhile.
